Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center
POWDER VALLEY CONSERVATION NATURE CENTER is nestled in 112 acres
of oak-hickory forest--a quiet corner in a busy urban world. Leave that
chaotic lifestyle behind and escape to the nature center's trails and exhibits.
Learn about nature...
- The indoor exhibits are entertaining and educational, bringing to life
the many benefits of conservation. For books and other learning tools,
there's a resource library and gift shop.
- Come to one of our special programs. For a schedule, ask at the desk
or watch the calendar in our newsletter, Making Tracks.
- Four classrooms and a 250-seat auditorium are used for school groups,
scouts, public programs, films and guest speakers.
- Call in advance to schedule a naturalist-led program for a group.
Escape a busy schedule...
- Enjoy a wildlife viewing area with large windows for a clear view of
bird feeders and a marsh -- see the woodpeckers, squirrels, wild turkeys
and other wildlife which come to feed.
- Two levels of state-of-the-art exhibits, geared to all ages, draw you
into the intricate world of nature so you can see and understand the pieces
and the whole.
- Take an underwater look at some of our aquatic wildlife in a 3,000-gallon
aquarium filled with native Missouri fish.
