Babler Southwoods Hollow Natural Area

A 17-acre area in Babler State Park in the SE1/4, SE1/4 of Section 28, T45N, R3E, Eureka 7.5 min. topographic map. Designated September 25, 1978.

Natural Features--Babler Southwoods Hollow Natural Area is in the Missouri River Section of the Ozark Border Natural Division in a region characterized by moderately dissected terrain underlain by limestone and capped with loess. The principal feature is a mesic upland forest dominated by old-growth white oak-sugar maple in a narrow east-facing valley. The tract is owned by the Department of Natural Resources.
