A 17-acre area in Babler State Park in the SE1/4, SE1/4 of Section 28, T45N, R3E, Eureka 7.5 min. topographic map. Designated September 25, 1978.

Natural Features

Babler Southwoods Hollow Natural Area is in the Missouri River Section of the Ozark Border Natural Division in a region characterized by moderately dissected terrain underlain by limestone and capped with loess. The principal feature is a mesic upland forest dominated by old-growth white oak-sugar maple in a narrow east-facing valley. The tract is owned by the Department of Natural Resources.
