Holly Ridge Natural Area

STODDARD 43 Holly Ridge
An 84-acre area within the Holly Ridge Conservation Area about three miles southeast of Bloomfield on a county road in the NW1/4, NW1/4 of Section 6, T25N, R11E and the SW1/4, SW1/4 of Section 31, T26N, R11E, Dexter 7.5 min. topographic map. Designated February 13, 1976 and December 3, 1981.
Natural Features
A natural stand of American holly, a beech-tulip poplar-alder forest and a number of other rare and interesting plants in moist, sandy draws in Crowleys Ridge Section of the Mississippi Lowlands Natural Division. Several small springs and spring runs are found here, one containing a state-endangered fish, the goldstripe darter. Most of the area is covered by oak-hickory forest.
