Dark Hollow Natural Area
A 308-acre portion of the Union Ridge Conservation Area located north of Green City in the NE1/4 of Section 29 and the NW1/4 of Section 28, T64N, R18W, Green City 7.5 topographic map. Access is by foot from an unimproved county road. Designated May 20, 1992.
Natural Features
A mesic and dry-mesic upland forest with adjacent prairie remnants in the Grand River Section of the Glaciated Plains Natural Division. Many of the trees are unusually old and large for northern Missouri. The area is also characterized by a diverse ground flora including yellow lady's slippers, bloodroot and golden seal.
