Coakley Hollow Fen Natural Area
A 4-acre area in the Lake of the Ozarks State Park at Ozark Caverns in the SE1/4, SW1/4 of Section 4 and a small part of Section 9, T38N, R15W, Toronto 7.5 min. topographic map. Designated August 25, 1982.
Natural Features--A swampy, spring-fed meadow, calcareous seeps and spring branch along Coakley Hollow in the Upper Ozarks Section of the Ozark Natural Division. These bog-like seeps are sites for a number of northern glacial relicts, including Riddell's goldenrod. A trail and boardwalk provide access to the fen. Additional information on the area is included in a self-guiding trail brochure. The Department of Natural Resources owns the area.
