Golden Seal Natural Area

A 100-acre portion of Peck Ranch Conservation Area in Section 2, T27N, R2W and Section 35, T28N, R2W, Stegall Mountain 7.5 min. topographic map. Designated December 18, 1973.

Natural Features--A losing stream, north-facing upland forest and bottomland forest on well-drained, gravel soils of the Lower Ozarks Section of the Ozark Natural Division. Ozark witch hazel and swamp dogwood are abundant along Mill Creek. Golden Seal Natural Area is owned by the Department of Conservation. It is a wildlife refuge.
