Natural Features
The mesic and dry-mesic forest communities are on a steep northwest facing limestone slope which drains into Big Sugar Creek. This is a mature white oak forest abounding in spring wildflowers. The George A. Hamilton Forest is one of the finest remnant forests in the Lincoln Hills Section of the Glaciated Plains Natural Division. The area is owned by the Department of Natural Resources.
