“Take me fishing - I'll be grown up before you know it.”

You don't need to travel far or own a boat to take your kids fishing and make memories for a lifetime. Throughout the year the Missouri Department of Conservation and sponsoring organizations provide young anglers and their families with lots of opportunities to learn to fish and enjoy the sport.

Kids' fishing events are held around the state. From bluegill and hybrid sunfish to bullheads and channel catfish, kids have countless opportunities to catch their first fish or even their 100th fish. Please check the Calendar of Events (below) for locations and times near you.

More opportunities for young anglers to wet a line

A special Kids' Fishing Day at each of Missouri's trout parks give young anglers (15 years and younger) the chance to try their hands at fishing for trout. Bring the whole family and enjoy the day's activities, including fishing clinics, live demonstrations, and contests at some locations.
