Funding, information, technical assistance and equipment
We don’t usually think of towns and counties as habitat for fish, forests and wildlife, but effective community water- and greenways benefit wildlife as well as people. To help towns and counties improve their watershed and community forest management, the Department offers funding, information, technical assistance and equipment. Visit the Grow Native! web site for information on native trees and their care, and don’t forget to check the Department’s workshop calendar for professional training and education on community natural resource management topics and issues.
Streams and Watersheds
A successful watershed approach promotes collaboration and communication between stakeholders with a variety of perspectives, from habitat preservation to hydropower generation. This page provides an outline of the watershed approach--a blueprint for watershed management.
