- Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project - The Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project or MOFEP, is one of the most comprehensive ecological investigations of forest response ever undertaken in upland oak ecosystems. (Added: 1-Dec-1999 Hits: 627)
- Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project (MOFEP) - Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project (MOFEP) is a long-term interdisciplinary research effort to study the effects of typical forest management practices on Ozark forest plants and animals. Three different harvesting methods (no harvesting, even-aged harvesting and uneven-aged harvesting) are being applied and the effects on different components of the ecosystem will be observed. Scientists' studies include forest vegetation, neotropical migrant birds, reptiles and amphibians, small mammals and invertebrates. Cooperators from the Department of Conservation, University of Missouri, Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service are involved with the project.
