According to Brodo (1991), this species does not occur in North America, although the name has been misapplied to a variety of corticolous taxa of Ochrolechia.
Ochrolechia parella - mapped from extreme SW Mo. by Howard (1970); this is the basis for the literature report in Gier & Kendrick (1972). According to Brodo (1991), this taxon is not known from North America, and most of the Howard citations are referable to O. pseudopallescens or O. juvenalis, neither of which is currently known from Missouri.
