JEFFERSON CITY- A fantastic new cassette and CD called CritterRock has been released by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Jan Syrigos, a naturalist at the Runge Conservation Nature Center, is the featured vocalist in the collection of nine songs that provide entertainment and a conservation message. Jan wrote all but one of the songs herself. Education Consultant Mike Fraser and Public Relations Specialist Ralph Duren also provided talent for this unique album.
The writing, recording, and producing of the album was a three year project. The final product is a unique combination of education and entertainment. Jan was accompanied by professional vocalists and musicians to create an album that will allow the Department to reach children through music, proven to be a very effective learning medium.
Both the cassette and CD will be available through the Publications Order
Form and at the nature centers. The cassette will cost $8.00 and the CD
$10.00. Jan will be making promotional concerts throughout the state at
schools, dedications, and conferences. For more information, contact the
