February 19, 1998, report of news and decisions of the Missouri Conservation Commission
The Conservation Commission met at 10:15 a.m. on February 19 at Marriott's Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach in conjunction with the 1998 Missouri Natural Resources Conference. All commissioners were present:
Ronald J. Stites, Plattsburg
Randy Herzog, St. Joseph
Anita B. Gorman, Kansas City
Howard L. Wood, Bonne Terre
The next meeting was set on March 27 in Osage Beach in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Conservation Federation of Missouri.
PRESENTATIONS
The Commission presented the 1998 Natural Area Management Award to Mitchell L. Miller, Regional Private Land Program Leader in the Northwest Region.

Kenneth M. Babcock, Director of Operations, Ducks Unlimited Inc./Southern Regional Office, Jackson, Mississippi, on an overview of DU's Southern Regional Office programs, highlights of past partnerships and an outline of potential areas of future cooperation between DU and the Department.
Wildlife Research Biologist Dale D. Humburg on zoning for duck hunting in Missouri.
AREA NAMES
The Commission approved the following area names:
Ashley Access for a 7.13-acre tract along North Fork of Cuivre River in Pike County.
Grandpa Chipley's Conservation Area for a 7-acre tract in Camden County.
