CONSERVATION ACTION
News of the April 19, 2000 Conservation Commission meeting

The Conservation Commission met April 19 at The West Plains Civic Center, West Plains, Missouri. Commissioners present were:
Howard L. Wood, Bonne Terre
Ronald J. Stites, Plattsburg
Randy Herzog, St. Joseph
Anita B. Gorman, Kansas City
The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for May 24-25, 2000 at Big Cedar Lodge, Ridgedale, Missouri.
REGULATIONS
The Commission accepted the Report of the Regulations Committee,
approving recommendations for the 2000-01 firearms and archery
deer hunting seasons and managed deer hunts; and recommendations
for changes in the 2001 Wildlife Code.
ADMINISTRATION: The Commission also took the following action:
· authorized selling fiber optics easements across portions
of James A. Reed Memorial Conservation Area, Jackson County; Eagle
Bluffs Conservation Area, Boone County; and Marais Temps Clair
Conservation Area, St. Charles County.
· authorized relocation of a fire tower to the grounds
of the Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City.
