News of the June 29, 2001 Conservation Commission meeting

The Conservation Commission met June 29 at the Conservation Department’s Northwest Regional Office, St. Joseph. Commissioners present were:

, Bonne Terre

The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for July 18, 2001 at the Department Headquarters, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Commission meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to be placed on the agenda for a presentation or other business must send a written request to: Director, Department of Conservation, P. O. Box 180, Jefferson City MO 65102-0180, or FAX to (573) 751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date, July 18, 2001. The Commission heard the following presentations:

REGULATIONS

The Commission approved changing the waterfowl hunting zones for 2001 through 2005. New zoning boundaries are to include St. Charles County in the Middle Zone and the use of Highway 54 as the boundary between the South and Middle zones in southwest Missouri.

The Commission approved an increase in non-resident deer and turkey hunting permits by $20. There will be no price increase for resident or non-resident first or second bonus deer hunting permits or youth deer and turkey hunting permits. Fee structure is as follows:
