The Conservation Commission met the Cedar Creek Conference Center, New Haven, Mo. Commissioners present were:

ADMINISTRATION:

The Commission took the following actions:

  • Approved entering into a contract with the low bidder for construction of the Little River Conservation Area - Combs Lake Aeration System located in Dunklin County.
  • Approved a revised Aircraft Use Policy.
  • Approved a staff recommendation to purchase approximately 52 acres in Laclede County.
  • Approved the sale of saw timber and waste wood on Peck Ranch Conservation Area in Carter and Shannon counties.
  • Designated two Missouri Natural Areas.
  • Voted to suspend for one year all hunting and fishing privileges of five people for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:
    • Bradley A. Bresher, Warrenton; Aaron D. Carter, Dexter; Christopher B. McCown, Kansas City; Leroy Schutte, Festus; and Chandrea L. Scott, Poplar Bluff.
  • Approved the suspension or revocation of all hunting and fishing privileges of 34 people who are not in compliance with applicable child support laws.
  • Voted to suspend or revoke all hunting and fishing privileges of 245 residents of other states in accordance with the terms of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact.
  • Approved hiking, trail and mountain bicycling and horseback riding as additional activities to be allowed on designated trails at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. Hunting and fishing already are permitted on the area.
  • Set its next meeting for July 30-31 in Jefferson City. Commission meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to be placed on the agenda for a presentation or other business must send a written request to Director, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180, or FAX (573) 751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date. The deadline for the next meeting is July 16.
