The Conservation Commission met at the Conservation Department's Jim Tom Blair Regional Office, 2360 Highway D, St. Charles. Commissioners present were:

The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for April 26 at the Jerry J. Presley Conservation Education Center, Salem.
PRESENTATIONS:
Commission meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to be placed on the agenda for a presentation or other business must send a written request to Director, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180, or FAX 573/751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date. The deadline for the next meeting is April 12.
Ted Curtis and Kathi Weilbacher of TrailNet, Inc., discussed a partnership for Eagle Days at Old Chain of Rocks Bridge.
The Commission heard presentations about:
- The Conservation Department's Employment Diversity Initiative
- Cooperative efforts with the Missouri Division of Tourism for promotion of Conservation Department programs
- Recent Resource Science workshops
REGULATIONS:
The Commission granted authorization to conduct a trial telephone checking system during the 2004 spring turkey hunting season, involving approximately 6,000 permittees.
STAFF REPORTS:
The Commission also took the following action based on staff reports and recommendations:
- Authorized entering into a memorandum of understanding with the Missouri Department of Agriculture for administration of certain aspects of the Grow Native! program.
- Approved personnel reclassifications
- Approved changes to Conservation Department policies regarding motorized vehicles and smoke-free workplace
- Approved the purchase of a 10-acre inholding on Baltimore Bend Conservation Area (CA) in Lafayette County
- Approved the exchange of the existing 1.5-acre access road to Humphrey Access in Platte County for 1.7 acres to allow for road realignment and relocation of the entrance into the access, together with a temporary construction easement on .52 acres.
- Approved the purchase of 209 acres in Vernon County as an addition to Clear Creek CA in Barton County
- Approved the name Howard and Joyce Wood Education and Visitor Center for the new visitor center at Columbia Bottom CA in St. Louis County
- Suspended or revoked hunting, trapping and fishing privileges of 26 Missouri residents and two non-residents for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:
