The Conservation Commission met in Forest Park in St. Louis. Commissioners present were:

The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for Dec. 17 in Jefferson City.

Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180, or FAX 573/751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date. The deadline for the next meeting is Dec. 3.
The Commission heard the following presentations:

Susan Lyndaker Lindsey, executive director of the Wild Canid Research Center, Eureka, explained the center's work with endangered species and presented a master plan for the center's Jefferson County property.

The Commission presented an award to Kathy Magruder Miller for her 2,000 hours of volunteer service at Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Area (CA), Branson.
ADMINISTRATION: The Commission also took the following action:

Approved the purchase of a 233.5-acre inholding as an addition to Ranacker Conservation CA in Pike County.

Approved the purchase of 138 acres as an addition to Monkey Mountain CA in Holt County.

Approved the purchase of an 81-acre inholding as an addition to Buford Mountain CA in Iron County.

Approved the purchase of 147 acres as an addition to Sunklands CA in Shannon County.

Approved the sale of approximately 773,080 board feed of lumber on 141 acres in Compartment 6 at Clearwater CA in Reynolds County

Approved the redirection of $940,000 in challenge grant funds from the Great Rivers Resource Center project in St. Louis to the Audubon Ark project being developed by Audubon Missouri, contingent on the sponsors raising money and subject to further provisions to be outlined in a contract.

Approved designation of Pawnee Prairie CA as a Missouri Natural Area.

Suspended or revoked Missouri hunting and fishing privileges of 354 people in accordance with the terms of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact.
