The Conservation Commission met Jan. 27 and 28 at the Hampton Inn, 900 Kansas Ave., Clinton, Mo.
Commissioners present were:

- Stephen C. Bradford, Cape Girardeau, Member
The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for March 10 and 11 in Cape Girardeau.
PRESENTATIONS:
Commission meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to be placed on the agenda for a presentation or other business must send a written request to Director, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180, or FAX 573/751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date. The deadline for the next meeting is Feb. 25.
The Commission heard staff presentations about:
- Status of wildlife diversity programs and focus by Wildlife Diversity Initiatives Chief Richard Thom, Wildlife Division Administrator Dave Erickson and Resource Science Division Administrator Dale Humburg.
- Prairie management by Prairie Wildlife Biologist Steve Clubine.
- Protection Division programs and activities by Protection Division Administrator Dennis Steward.
REGULATIONS:
The Commission approved:
The Commission approved implementing the telecheck program for all deer and turkey hunting statewide, effective Sept 15. Telecheck allows hunters to check game by telephone instead of bringing it to check stations. The Conservation Department tested the system by allowing landowners to telecheck deer last year.
ADMINISTRATION:
The Commission took the following action:
- Approved the purchase of a three-sided, 64-acre inholding in Osage County as an addition to Ben Branch Conservation Area (CA).
- Approved the purchase of a three-sided, 100-acre inholding in Caldwell County as an addition to Bonanza CA.
- Approved the purchase of 790 acres in Bollinger County as an addition to Dark Cypress Swamp CA.
- Approved the sale of approximately 735,600 board feet of timber on 454 acres of Deer Ridge CA in Lewis County.
- Suspended or revoked hunting and/or fishing privileges of seven Missouri residents for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:
