The Conservation Commission met Sept. 29 at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Dewy Short Visitor Center, 4600 State Highway 165, Branson.
Commissioners present were:

The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for Nov. 2 and 3 at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center, Blue Springs.

The Commission presented special achievement awards to Fisheries Resource Technician Ron D. Bullard, Fisheries Management Biologist Danny J. Brown and Special Projects Assistant Denise C. Otto.
REGULATIONS:
- The Commission approved regulation changes:
- Established a definition of people with disabilities that is consistent with other state statutes, allowing such people to take advantage of special hunting and fishing opportunities.
- Clarified Wildlife Code provisions concerning dog-training areas, three-day licensed wildlife hunting preserve permits, Class I and Class II wildlife breeders and field trials on conservation areas.
- Removed the option of marking captive-reared mallard ducks by banding.
ADMINISTRATION: The Commission took the following action:
- Approved the purchase of 42.5 acres in Vernon County as an addition to August A. Busch, Jr., Memorial Wetlands at Four Rivers Conservation Area (CA).
- Approved the purchase of a 50-acre inholding as an addition to Lamine River CA in Cooper and Morgan counties.
- Approved the purchase of a 145-acre inholding as an addition to Eagle Bluffs CA in Boone County.
- Approved the purchase of 14.97 acres in Jefferson County as an addition to Young Conservation Area. Seventy-five percent of the acquisition cost will be paid with funds from the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation's Stream Stewardship Trust Fund.
- Authorized a lease with the Jackson County Parks and Recreation for operation of a manned outdoor shooting range and education center.
- Suspended hunting and/or fishing privileges of 28 Missouri residents for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:
