The Conservation Commission met Nov. 3 at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center in Blue Springs.
Commissioners present were:

The next meeting of the Conservation Commission was set for Dec. 14 and 15 at Conservation Department Headquarters in Jefferson City.

The Commission:
- Heard a presentation from Robert Wagner, Kansas City, regarding light pollution and the environment.
- Presented Volunteer Service Awards to Joyce Baker and Marvin Roberts, for 2,000 hours of volunteer service, and Joe Polka for 10,000 hours of volunteer service, all at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center.

The Commission:
- Set opening day of the November portion of the 2007 Firearms deer season for Nov. 10.
ADMINISTRATION:
The Commission took the following actions:
- Approved accepting a donation of 1.22 acres in Cole County for office or storage space.
- Approved the sale of 22-acre Ringold Access in Platte County.
- Approved conveying 10.54 acres and granting a permanent easement on Twin Pines Conservation Area (CA) in Shannon County to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission for improvements to U.S. Highway 60.
- Approved conveying .14 acres of Big John Access in Dallas County to the Dallas County Commission for a bridge replacement over the Niangua River.
- Approved the purchase of two parcels totaling 197.86 acres in Pettis County and named the area Bryson's Hope CA.
- Suspended hunting and/or fishing privileges of 12 Missouri residents and one nonresident for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:

- Suspended the hunting and fishing privileges of 404 nonresidents and six Missouri residents under the provisions of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact.
- Approved the suspension or revocation of all hunting and fishing privileges of 162 Missouri residents who are not in compliance with applicable child support laws.
- Revoked the hunting privileges of a juvenile who caused the death of another person while hunting.
