The Conservation Commission met Feb. 1 and 2 at the Conservation Department's Northeast Regional office, 3500 S. Baltimore, Kirksville.

The Conservation Commission set its next meeting for March 15 and 16 at the Lodge of Four Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks.

Missouri State Conservationist Roger Hansen presented the Two Chiefs Partnership Award to Conservation Department Director John Hoskins on behalf of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, recognizing Hoskins' efforts toward cooperative conservation in Missouri.

The Commission authorized the sale of an estimated 1,297,936 board feet of timber on Sunklands Conservation Area in Shannon County.

The Commission suspended hunting and/or fishing privileges of seven Missouri residents and two nonresidents for Wildlife Code violations and affirmed actions taken by Missouri courts suspending various privileges of five Missouri residents. Those whose privileges were suspended are:

The Commission reinstated all sport privileges of Bryan L. Wilson, St. James, whose privileges had been suspended for one year in December.

The Commission approved the suspension or revocation of all hunting and fishing privileges of 269 Missouri residents and one nonresident who are not in compliance with applicable child support laws.

The Commission suspended all hunting privileges of three Missouri residents and one nonresident for periods of one to five years for injuring other persons in firearms-related hunting incidents. One of the injuries was fatal.

The Commission suspended the hunting and fishing privileges of 123 nonresidents under the provisions of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact.
