The Conservation Commission met Sept. 27 and 28 at the Conservation Department Regional Office in West Plains.
Commissioners present were:

The Conservation Commission set its next meeting for Nov. 1 and 2 in Joplin. Commission meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to be placed on the agenda for a presentation or other business must send a written request to Director, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180, or FAX (573) 751-4467, at least 10 working days before the meeting date. The deadline for the next meeting is Oct. 18.

DIVISION RECOMMENDATIONS
The Commission approved division recommendations to:
- Accept the low bid of $248,840 from CMR Construction & Roofing, L.L.C., St. Louis, for roof replacement at Conservation Commission Headquarters in Jefferson City.
- Seek operating and capital spending authority for Fiscal Year 2009, supplemental capital spending authority for Fiscal Year 2008 and authority to appropriate money to other state agencies for Fiscal Year 2009.
- Advertise and sell an estimated 1,453,200 board feet of timber on Riverside CA in Reynolds County.
- Approved an agreement with the City of Columbia and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to supply water for Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area (CA).
- Advertise and sell an estimated 1,002,322 board feet of timber on Big Buffalo Creek CA in Benton County.
- Advertise and sell an estimated 1,632,624 board feet of timber on Angeline CA in Shannon County.
- Accept a donation of .23 acres in Perry County as an addition to Seventy-Six CA
- Accept a donation of 1.2 acres in Dent County as an addition to Shawnee Mac Lakes CA.
- Pass resolutions recognizing Conservation Commissioners Emeriti Stephen C. Bradford and Cynthia Metcalfe for their six years of dedicated service and outstanding leadership for the Conservation Department.
- Suspend all sport hunting and fishing privileges of 28 Missouri residents for Wildlife Code violations. Those whose privileges were suspended are:

- Conservation Commission Director John Hoskins announced the promotion of Wildlife Division Chief Dave Erickson to the position of assistant director.
