Someone has been visiting Runge at night! Help solve the mystery of our secret visitor by using clues they left behind. Find the animal culprit and earn your Nature Detective badge! Registration required. Ages 3-6

Bats are amazing Missouri animals, but they are misunderstood. Join us virtually in learning all about these incredible animals and why they are so beneficial to us! Registration required. All ages invited, however, material covered is geared for adults. Be sure to include your email address in your registration. Whether you’re an avid backpacker or a backyard bonfire enthusiast, come join other women to learn more about the best part of any outdoor adventure – the food! Participants will learn the tips and tricks for making easy and delicious meals with just a campfire and have the chance to try some tasty treats! Registration required. Ages 16+

Put on your hiking shoes and join us for a guided hike of Clifty Creek Conservation Area (Maries County); 3 miles – moderate. Meet at Runge Nature Center or the trailhead. Some transportation is provided, but carpooling may be necessary. Hike leaders will contact participants before the hike to give directions if needed. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and pack a lunch/snack. Registration required. Ages 18+

Missouri is home to some terrific turtles! Join us in learning what makes these animals so special. You might even meet a turtle or two! Staff and volunteers will have ongoing activities and crafts available for all ages. No registration required. All ages

Keep an eye out for book pages posted along Runge's Naturescape trail and enjoy a story as you explore and walk!

Hackberry or hickory? Pawpaw or persimmon? Join a naturalist at the Boone County Nature School in Columbia to learn more about some of Missouri’s most common tree species. Participants will learn tips and tricks to identify these silent sentinels and put their skills to the test on a guided hike! Bring a water bottle and prepare to be outside. We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Boone County Nature School. Registration required. Ages 12+
